“The rocky heights, the soft meadows, the zealous body of the foal and of the human, all are from the same family.” –quote by Chief Seattle, Native American (various signs are placed all around the Center, and have been here for years…)
This year at the Center, we are trying something new: having a year-long theme on the environment. Along with being a special year, due to the 30th anniversary of the Center, an environmental focus will hopefully be employed in a variety of ways. The Center wants to find ways to incorporate it into the classes and cultural presentations this year.
I plan on doing some short sessions on recycled crafts and environmental themes in some of the classes at the Center. The first Cierre Cultural at the end of June (1st semester cultural presentation from the various classes) will likely also carry this focus–through song, theater, dance, or painting. I’m excited to see what develops in 2013.
