A Cultural “Finish”

At the end of June, the Cultural Center of Batahola Norte celebrated the first of its biannual cultural presentations–el Cierre Cultural–and closing of the first semester’s classes. The Saturday morning event featured all the dance groups, music classes, theater class, orchestra and choir. Painting students displayed their works in the Salon Guadalupana, where Cooking class students and Handicraft artisans sold beautiful goods.

Personal favorites: the beginning guitar class; two theater acts performed by adolescents which touched on themes of gender equality; and the crowd-rousing Latin Rhythms class which often ends these events.

Everyone’s back from vacation and activities are up and running. Looking forward to what creativity this new semester at the CCBN will provide!

Here’s some video of the dancing and musical performances:

  1. Andrea,
All of our IHM crew loved seeing the pictures of the games being used at Carlos Fonseca. God bless you, Sue
