Estela and Madga, two of our English students practice a conversation. We try to follow a participatory educational model–involving lots of dynamic games, conversations, pair work, and peer-correction. Sam and I switch off teaching the 4-day-a-week class–around 24 students ranging from age 15 to 57. Even if I wake up one morning lacking motivation to get going, once English class has started at 9am, I’m almost always encouraged and inspired by our students.
Students take the class for various reasons, from professional opportunities, to personal interest. The best part is seeing them develop friendships within the class and also get excited about the progress they’re making in English.
