The English students that Amanda and Greta have been with since February threw a fantastic goodbye-party last week. They brought “caballo ballo” (a type of potluck-dish with many delicious components); they sang, they created a choreographed dance, and even had a piñata. Lots of laughing, spontaneous dancing, and photos.
Nicaraguans sure know how to party, even if it is before noon. It was apparent how much they’ve appreciated Amanda and Greta. Also, we saw how the English class has been much more than just a language class, but also a community. Sam and I have huge shoes to fill, but already feel welcomed by the students. Good food, laughs, and dancing together seems to help everyone bond a bit more 🙂
